it depends which market you are using , if your using 1mobile market and you enabled to save the APK files after installation it will be saved in Downloads folder if ur using Black market it will be saved in Black market / Downloads if your using android market it wont be saved on ur device .

Use eclipse with java. There is a tutorial for getting the android SDK on. The real app makers use eclipse, not the online ones by google or things like that. It is free, and easy to use (after you get used to it and if you know java)

just like apple apps on iPhone, BB apps on black berry and WM apps on windows phone.
now you can port android over to your HD 2
but its complicated and kinda rough
i did that to my HD 2
but it crashed, lagged and eventually bricked
i had to out WM back on it and ended up selling it
you better be an advance user to do this or you will destroy the phone and it will be nothing more than a brick......if you want android, post an ad on craigslist and trade the HD 2 for an android phone with someone.

Your app download history should be saved under your Gmail account, so you should just have to go into the Market and re-download them on the Droid

The GNU license stipulates that companies are allowed to distribute and change Linux, but the customers have to be able to have access to the source code.

Its the same with Apple. You can download Darwin sources (the *nix parts of Mac OSX), compile it and run it but it is nowhere near what Mac OSX is.

Don't worry, though. If you get good with the basics of a language, it's mainly a matter of syntax to jump to another one. Just make sure you get good at the basics. (Functions, conditions, looping, recursion, classes, etc. . .)

Go to ubuntu.com download a live cd iso. Burn it onto a disc. Restart your comp. Install it with the installer.

The operating system is the files that connect with the Kernel. The Kernel is nothing without the files except a file. So basically it is the files that they alter and modify to make the operating system. They may make some minor changes to the Kernel to make it function and operated based on the phones hardware.

Linux is two words put together in order to name the Kernel after the creator. Lin ux (Linus Torvalds ) Lin after Linus and ux after Unix.

I am a sales rep for a wireless company. This will be kind of long, but this is exactly what you need to do, and it will work...

Okay first check some things out first. In your location and security settings do you have any My Location check marked? This is the number one battery drainer. When you have this turned on, your cell phone is always putting out signal for gps, or wireless towers to show location. Unless you are using gps or searching for a nearby store, this is pretty much useless and wastes battery. Next I would use an app called Advanced Task killer. This app will close apps that you accidentally left open. When you download it go to settings (by pressing menu button) and having it auto kill ever 30 or so minutes. Now you need to make sure what you have check marked on advanced task killer, because it will kill all apps that are checked. MAKE SURE THE PROGRAM ITSELF IS NOT CHECKED! You want to go ahead and check everything for right now and press kill. Now all those selected apps will be removed, BUT WAIT. Don't leave the application yet. Wait about 4-5 minutes and go in and out of the app from home screen back to the application at least once. You will see that you have some apps that popped back up. Un-Check all of those apps! These are apps that will reboot themselves in order for the phone to function properly, and by killing them you're just causing a battery draining loop.

This alone will double your battery life. I do this for my customers every day and they always say it works.

It's different on almost every phone that is running android OS. Not completely different but small little tweaks here and there on the same company, on a different company it can be something very noticeable like options/add-ons that the other company does not have.

Not many will or should sum so when you go to Market Android or AppBrain it sees your hardware first then OS and shows you what you're able to use. Also Gingerbread is far newer and uses way more processor speed and the Kernel on the tablet as well are far different.
