I have an HTC Aria. I know how iPhones upgrade a stuff, but I don't know how androids update. Do the phones just update themselves when there's a new firmware? Thank you in advance.

Answer
yes they update themselves wirelessly- you will receive a notification on the phone when an update is ready to install

Why do android updates have to be staggered geographically?

The Asus Transformer TF300 just had the Jelly bean OS update available in North America but not other parts of the world, like Australia and apparently, it won't be available for up to two weeks.

My question is... why? If it's the same update and same machine, why not just release it worldwide all at once?

Is there some technical reason it can't be done?

Answer
probably more of a licensing issue than anything would be my guess.

Will there ever be an Android Update for the Sanyo Zio?

I found out that the phone ran on a much older version of Android, meaning theres alot of bugs.
Will Cricket/Android ever release an update for the Sanyo Zio by Kyocera?

Answer
It's not running on that old of a version. When it came out on cricket it was running 1.6 but now with the sprint release it's running 2.1 which isn't that bad.
