Is there a way to make your android smartphone a computer screen for laptop?

I have a crack in my laptop screen and I dont want to spend hundreds of dollars to fix it. I saw that there are ways to make your computer view what your android is seeing, but I want to see my laptop screen on my phone.

its free
some kid that sits next to me in my english college class plays video games from his computer at home on his android cell phone ha ha.. its crazy. he just sits in class listens to music plays games ect
